Summary:

I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

Sierra is a small town journalist that is trying to get her spot as the anchor of the news station.  Sierra knows the person who she is up against has an in with the boss.  Sierra might have a slight obsession with Prince Adrian Marx.  She follows all his social media and is constantly aware of what he is doing.  When she learns of a contest which she could win a date with the Prince she is all in.  She can not believe she actually was chosen and is excited to meet him.  And then she meets him and at first glance this is not what she fantasized it to be.  She most definitely did not expect the date to lead to this...

Prince Adrian Marx does not want to become King.  He wants nothing to do with the running a country, but knows he is doomed.  When he is told about the contest he is less than thrilled about it.  He figures the girl who won will be all pleasing and thinking she will be the next princess.  He decides best way of meeting this date is to eat cheesy junk food, in sweat pants, and playing video games with his brother.  But just maybe he might have gotten all wrong..

My thoughts:

I will admit I was not really a fan of Sierra in, "My Besties Ex".  Why you might ask?  I just felt she was a little bit immature, selfish, and a little too territorial.  Especially the way she wanted her friends to take sides.  If you didn't read, "My Besties Ex" I really recommend you do!!  Totally worth it!!

But in this book Sierra redeems herself.  Now, there are always two sides of a story as people say.  I actually believe there are three.  One person's side, the other person's side, and then the truth.  As long as both parties tell their truth the actual truth is somewhere in between.

A lot of times people perceptions of the truth differentiate from one person to the next.  Perfect example happened tonight while I was talking to my friend.  She is going through a bit of a hard time with her last relationship ending a few months ago.  She believes it happened over night and is stuck on why this happened.  She consistently says the same lines which are he was perfect for her, she never seen this coming, he was never like this, and maybe he will change his mind.  Do I blame her?  No.  Do we all do this?  Yes.  Will she get over this?  Yes.

I love her I do, but we all know he did not leave her with a snap of his fingers.  There were signs of the tension, disagreements, and somewhere there was unhappiness.  Her truth is everything was fine and there were problems, but nothing that couldn't be worked out.  Then there is his truth which we will never get as to why he decided to leave.  Then somewhere between her version and his version is the truth.

The simple truth which has no exaggeration, no lies, no feeling, no embellishment, and no stake in the game.  The truth most of us refuse to say or even admit.  We always want to find reasons as to why or make excuses as to why we don't want something.  I absolutely have this problem.

I can never say I just don't want to, I don't love you, I don't like you, or just plain NO.  I always say no and come up with an excuse or reason.  Even if I have to fib ( okay lie) about why I don't want to do something.  I envy the people who just say no and if you are one of them I applaud you!!

Maybe one day I will able to say no...

Until then...

As always,

Shh!! Me Time!!
