This book was well executed, well written, characters were well developed,
and I really like the concept.  I loved the mystery and I am a sucker for the

Summary:

I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Mena is in high school and she is bullied all of the time.  Mena is always trying to be invincible so their harsh criticisms and taunts don't come.  There have been occasions where Mena has been physically assaulted by them.  One night she meets her next door neighbor, but because it is dark and there is a partition in the way they can not see each other.  They start an easy friendship and Mena does everything she can to make sure he doesn't see her face.  When Mena finally put a voice to the face she realizes he is part of the in crowd.  Mena knows she has to stay away because if he ever finds out who she is there will be no coming back.

Turner is only in this town and going to this high school for one reason.  He knows it is going to be a challenge to get what he wants, but he never expects the girl next store.  He needs to get what he came for and then get out.  Can it be that simple though?

My Thoughts:

Bullying.

I think everyone goes through some type of bullying at school.  Unfortunately, too many kids are in Mena's shoes.

When I was in 6th grade I got picked on a lot.  I was tall for my age, I had are started to go through puberty, my hair was unruly, and because I was starting to develop a figure put me front and center.  I have been called everything from giant, to Chia pet, to being accused of stuffing my bra, and being called a slut.

By the time I hit high school and because I finally started to learn how to open my mouth things got better.  I mean I was still called a whore and a slut.  Then the one time someone put my number on the door in the girls restroom.

Funny how it all works.  I never grew after 10,  I am only 5'2" not a giant anymore.  My hair is still unruly and I have learned to accept my hair.  Plus people pay a lot of money to have what I have.  At this time of my life and even before I wish I did stuff my bra.  Back then I was a C now though I am a DDD.

As for the whore and slut comments I will say this the day I graduated high school I was still a virgin.  And over the years there have not been that many people.  I was very sexually shy back then and didn't know much of anything.  Maybe that is where my love for dirty books come from, but books have taught me a lot.

I think who the person you become after high school is who you are meant to be.  And there is nothing wrong with that.

As always,

Shh!! Me Time!!
